Xbox not updating via usb
Check with your service provider, but you might be able to make your phone a mobile hotspot, then connect your xbox wirelessly (via wifi) to that.
(Of course you'll have to have your phone on constantly while the xbox is connected.) Other than that, I think you're SOL.
You can modify your console's settings so that updates are downloaded automatically or have to be downloaded manually.
There are also several steps you can take if your Xbox One is having difficulty installing an update.
Your phone will have to have a wireless hotspot service enabled in order for that to work.
If you have wireless hotspot capability it is as simple as turning on mobile hotspot, noting the ssid (the name you gave your hotspot) and the password, then on your xbox go to: Settings, System, Network Settings.
Not really- you can (and should) only get updates via Live.
Using google I did find a place where you can download updates, but only TU's up to 11 are listed, (it's TU12 on the disk), then it jumps to TU15 & TU16 (which aren't even out yet- the next one is TU14), and a bunch of comments that those TU's are crashing their game (and I hope you know Spanish).
I don't have Xbox Live (which you would usually use), so I decided to update it by downloading the update from and putting it on a CD, and then putting that CD in my Xbox 360.
Here is the page where I found out how to make it work. If you have a writable CD a thumb drive, use the thumb drive, because it's much easier.
Stuff you'll need: Xbox 360 Computer USB thumb drive (recommended) OR writable CD and CD writer Zip file extractor, I use [77-Zip]First of all, you'll need the update file. displaylang=en&Family ID=d7b1a7d8-846b-4ff4-8810-25356ec2c2aa DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THAT PAGE! If they did, I probably wouldn't have bothered to write this instructable.
The CSMIO-ENC is an expansion module for threading which is used to connect the spindle encoder.
It can be used with CSMIO/IP-S (step/dir) and CSMIO/IP-A ( /-10V) Ethernet Motion Controllers.
